ScamAvert beta preview

Why Open Beta (and why free)?

We’ve spent the last months in a focused Closed Alpha, working with early users to pressure-test ScamAvert in real scenarios. That feedback has already shaped big improvements—clearer alerts, stronger URL intelligence, better remote-access detection, and a faster, more private assistant.

Open Beta is our next step. We know ScamAvert catches a wide range of scams in the lab and in Alpha, but the real world is messy: different machines, browsers, habits, and threat patterns. Opening it up (for free) removes friction so more people can try it “in the wild,” and tell us what still needs polishing before the general release.

Your use helps us tune sensitivity, reduce false positives, and strengthen protections around high-risk flows—banking, support chats, unexpected screen-share requests, and urgent payment links. We’re privacy-first, we don’t sell data, and during this Open Beta the desktop app supports Windows (Mac is planned). If you like, you can also enable optional Guardian notifications so a trusted contact gets alerted when we detect risk.

Note: Open Beta is free and does not require a credit card. Windows is supported today; Mac is planned.

Beta FAQs
Yes. The Free Beta is genuinely free and does not require a credit card. If we reach capacity, we’ll ask if you’d like to switch to the paid version. Anyone who joins while it’s free will keep free access for the entire free period and won’t be charged automatically later.
Beta will continue, but the “free” part may end. Everyone who signed up during the Free Beta gets at least 2 additional months of free access after the free period ends. After that grace period, you’ll be able to choose a paid plan—there are no surprise charges.
Windows desktop is supported today. Android and Mac are planned. We also offer browser add-ons that extend and further improve protection while you browse.
We’re privacy-first. We minimize what’s processed, prefer on-device checks where possible, encrypt in transit, and never sell data.
Yes. You can either add a trusted contact as your Guardian or become one for someone else. Guardians receive alerts if risky activity is detected, allowing them to step in and help.
